Educators: Get up to speed quickly with the MBC 100 Series

Here's a fascinating fact: Since September 2011, we've added more than 410,000 new users to My Big Campus. Think about that for a moment – that's more than the total number of users we had just six months ago. As of today, more than 720,000 people now use My Big Campus. I can't tell you how pleased I am with this success, and with the talent and hard work everyone working for MBC has done to get us here.

One project I'd like to brag about, on behalf of our staff, is the new Self-Guided Training Modules developed by Holly Chambers, an educator working with the MBC Community Engagement team. Holly's turned her extensive classroom experience into an easily-assimilated set of tutorials that will take you from beginner to expert in a few short lessons.

The MBC 100 Series, now featured in the MBC Orientation Center topic, starts out with an overview that explains what My Big Campus is all about. You can then study the remaining course modules in any order, depending on your interests and your information needs. Here's a brief list of some of the topics:

Each module focuses on one important learning task, with clear illustrations and step-by-step instructions. With the knowledge you'll gain with just a few of these modules, you'll be able to leverage your time and skills to become the teacher you've always wanted to be.

You'll help your students be responsible for their own learning progress: no more forgotten assignments or misplaced homework. You'll be able to share student progress easily and effectively with parents and caregivers. You'll be able to use our huge library of educational videos and web sites to enhance your lessons. You'll also learn some of the ways My Big Campus can help you connect with your professional peers across the country and worldwide, with EduTalk and educator-only Topics.

I encourage you to check out what Holly has done so far. And let me know in the comments if there are any topics you'd particularly like to see as she continues to develop more MBC 100 series training modules.
